This very luxuriant weed is known as Lords and Ladies, strictly Arum maculatum, and it is very obvious at this time of year. It needs to be dug out very carefully, as even little bits of root will regrow. This is not one for the compost heap.
The cream form of Akebia quinata is already in flower, with a strong vanilla perfume. This one survives well in full shade and will have an abundance of pretty green leaves very soon.

Erysimum 'Winter Orchid' is a short-lived perennial wallflower, but it is very long flowering and scented. The flowers emerge as a coppery orange, turning to purple as they age. They are already in bloom and make good cut flowers as well.
A Meyer lemon tree, laden with fruit, in our treasurer's glasshouse. It is a cross between a citron and a mandarin/pomelo hybrid and has a sweeter, more floral taste than an ordinary lemon. I can attest that they are delicious.
