I cut my Irises before they even show the flower colour. They open beautifully indoors and last that much longer. I planted a few bulbs about ten years ago, but I haven’t touched them and they have multiplied considerably.

The large tree Aeonium arboreum is in flower outside the lower glasshouse in Lower Candie Gardens. Like many in this genus, Aeonium arboreum is monocarpic and so after blooming, the rosettes will die.

Glorious purple freesias in the garden of a PHG member. Is the bush behind them a Dyer's Chamomile 'Cotz tinctoria' or Argyranthemum frutescens, a white marguerite?

Clematis armandii ‘apple blossom’ - a froth of pale pink flowers with a fresh floral fragrance growing in our treasurer's garden. The bud clusters have been pretty, but the flowers are a picture.
