Andrew Lanoe

Saturday, October 25th 2025, 11.00 PM – 11.30 PM

Andrew will take visitors through to see our National Collection of Nerine sarniensis cultivars, one of only 2 such collections, and explain the history of the Nerine collection, and the criteria behind holding and retaining it. He will highlight the subtle and not so subtle differences in the range of Nerines grown, from the ‘wild’ Nerine sarniensis to the latest trends in breeding – 400 years of endeavour.

Andrew Lanoe is the Nerine Group Leader for Plant Heritage Guernsey and has a degree in Horticulture. He has a ‘lifelong’ fascination with Nerines and has made several trips to South Africa to see them growing in their habitat. He is the co-author of the book ‘Nerines – a brief guide to growing Nerines in the British Isles’ copies of which will be for sale during the Nerine Festival.

Numbers will be limited to 20 people.

Meet at the Nerine Festival at Guernsey Gardens.
